# Mercurious.ai

> Mercurious.ai is an independent AI practice in Athlone, Ireland, run by Rob Abbey. It works with Irish professional services firms — consultants, specialist practices, solicitors and accountants — and with any firm that produces a lot of documentation and carries a lot of repetitive work that never reaches an invoice. The job is to count that work honestly, decide what AI should actually do about it, and then deploy and look after a small team of AI agents that carry it. Sometimes the honest answer is "not yet", and saying so is part of the service.

Rob Abbey is the Trusted AI Curator™. He is a product manager and AI practitioner, not a developer: he designs the solution, involves the client's own team in shaping it, and says plainly when AI should not be involved at all. The founding principle is that most firms do not need more information about AI — they need clearer judgement about it.

The market test is the work, not the sector: if a firm sells time and expertise, and the question "does this work ever reach an invoice?" has teeth, it is the right kind of firm.

You describe where the work is piling up; Rob says plainly what AI would do about it, what it would not, and what he would do first. A one-page written summary follows within 48 hours and is yours to keep. €450.
- [AI Training & Assistant Setup](https://mercurious.ai/#services): A full day, in person or remote, tailored to the firm and its people. Covers what AI can realistically do right now and what it cannot, and includes building a working AI assistant in the firm's own voice. €1,000 per day.
- [The Census](https://mercurious.ai/#solution): One facilitated day inside the firm. The unbilled work is counted and weighed with the people who actually do it, mapped to the agents that could carry it, and turned into a deployment Blueprint with an honest go / not-yet / smaller decision at the end. The day is deliberately analogue — no computers in the room — and the printed roll stays with the firm. Nobody signs anything on the day. €1,850, credited in full against deployment if the firm proceeds within 90 days. If the answer is "not yet", the day and the Blueprint are still the firm's to keep.
- [The Mercurious Fleet](https://mercurious.ai/#fleet): A deployed team of AI agents that carries the work never billed to a client — follow-ups, drafting, reporting, chasing, summarising. Deployed on the firm's own accounts and API keys, monitored, and improved every month. There is an implementation charge to configure the roster to the firm, then a monthly fee with monitoring, training and support included. Pricing is a conversation, not a page: ask.

## How the Fleet works

- The fleet is deployed as a team, not as a single assistant. One agent on its own is a gadget; the value shows when several work together.
- Mercurious is client zero. Every agent runs on Rob's own practice before it goes near a client's. Five are running today: a chief of staff, an agent that keeps what the firm knows, one that writes down how the work is actually done, one that reads evidence and reports patterns honestly, and one that learns how the firm sounds so drafts arrive in its voice.
- The fleet grows one agent per quarter, chosen by the client at the Quarterly Count. It is not a monthly build treadmill.
- Ten client firms at a time, a hard cap. A place opens only when a client leaves.
- Client-owned accounts and keys, Mercurious-managed. Client data does not live with Mercurious. A departing client keeps everything: you keep the machine, you would be cancelling the mechanic.

## About Rob Abbey

- A decade in US technology before founding Mercurious: six years at ClickFunnels, joining the small initial team and seeing users grow from 6,500 to over 100,000, then Principal AI Product Manager at a $10M+ ARR company, working on chatbots, voicebots, prediction models, an AI-first CRM and an NLP-to-LLM migration.
- Rob is an orchestrator rather than a developer. He designs AI solutions, involves the client's team in shaping them, and advises when AI should not be used.
- Certified to run AI Design Sprints® for Products & Services, Process, and Generative AI by 33A.ai. This is a credential, not a service Mercurious sells; the AI Design Sprint® is 33A.ai's own methodology and trademark.

## Positioning

- Anti-hype and vendor-neutral. No breathless enthusiasm about technology, and no jargon without translation.
- The argument against failure: roughly 95% of enterprise AI projects fail (MIT / Fortune, 2025), not because the technology does not work, but because the people who had to use it every day were not in the room when it was designed. The Census exists to put them there.
- The framing is always about work, never about workers. Mercurious does not sell AI as a replacement for people, and does not make job-replacement or wage comparisons.
- An honest "not yet" saves a firm more than a bad yes.
